A TRIBUTE TO THE MAGNIFICENT BEAUTY OF PARIS
Per a request from a private client, we were asked to pay our homage to the “city of lights”, Paris, by creating a unique Skeleton Concept customized timepiece inspired by the French capital city.
Paris stands for grace, elegance as well as sophistication and innovation. It is the hometown for romance, artists, poets and culture. Paris is such a vibrant city. The French good taste, with their famous “less is more” attitude that Parisians – men and women alike – seem to effortlessly master so well, remains a secret that foreigners try in vain to reveal. Their unique sense of fashion and finesse have been the trademark of France.
Paris is also rich of France’s History. The strong French institutions, the core values that France has instilled to the western society have left an irrevocable imprint on the world. Therefore, It’s with extreme care and thoughts that we have approached this new customization project.
In spirit of all our discussions during the creating process, our client finally decided to name his new timepiece “The Elysée Concept” after the Elysee Palace – official residence of the Presidents of France, located at the heart of Paris, near the famous Champs-Elysées and the Place de la Concorde.
THE ELYSEE CONCEPT, THE ESSENCE OF PARIS ON YOUR WRIST
How to embody the noble characteristics of Paris on a personalized timepiece? What would be the design that would best capture the essence of this incredible city? What color palette choose that would give the luxurious, neat and elegant result we were looking for?
The purpose was to create a timepiece that would best represent these traits of the Parisian style, keeping in mind the quiet sophistication, the charm and France’s History while choosing the appropriate materials for this customization. As a subtle reference to the original copper color of the Eiffel tower, our master watchmakers specifically undertook the personalization process on a Cosmograph Daytona 116505 for its particularity to be made of 18 ct Everose Gold.
A SOPHISTICATED SKELETON MOVEMENT WITH A CUSTOM-MADE CARBON BEZEL AND A SAPPHIRE DIAL
Our master watchmakers have designed a skeletonized movement for this Cosmograph Daytona maximizing its transparency. Specific treatments were applied to accentuate the Everose Gold. We couldn’t resist the temptation of customizing the dial of this timepiece, replacing the original dial with a Sapphire custom-made one. To match the tones of the timepiece, a textured Carbon bezel was specifically created. Our watchmakers decided to upgrade the tachymeter bezel by tainting it in a sumptuous dark blue. The effect is spectacular, the bezel reflects the lights in an incommensurable way, reminding us of Paris by night.
Our client requested the round indexes be tainted in white except for the first 3 markers – colored in a dark orange, matching the crown as well as the “unit per hour” engraving on the bezel. With the dial ring and subdials in everose gold as well, the rendering is homogenous and refined.
POLISHED AND SATIN FINISHES
The hands of the watch are the original Everose gold ones of the Daytona, with high chronomalight readability. Our master watchmakers went the extra length with both satin and polish finishes on this tasteful timepiece. The lugs and the caseback are satin brushed, whereas the front case and the pushers are polished. It adds to the timepiece an interpretation of the French Parisian style: classy, elegant and most importantly – precise.
Our master watchmakers were assigned to craft a timepiece that radiates superior quality and ultimate elegance. Just like Paris – who forges beauty standards – we know no half measures. With the Elysée Concept on your wrist, it is you that will set the tone.
