Hennessey is an American tuning house established in 1991 by John Hennessey. They specialize in modifying the most famous sports cars’ brands including: Ferrari, Porsche, Mclaren, Jeep and more. Located in Texas, they focus on the modification of mechanical components in the purpose of creating high-powered cars. The Hennessey Venom F5, is the successor to the Venom GT. It has the company’s first in-house engine. The Venom F5 holds the record of the fastest car on earth and is an exclusive limited edition of 24 cars.

THE HENNESSEY VENOM F5 CONCEPT
Our partnership with the designers of Hennessey Performance was a unique experience. Creating a spectacular customized timepiece, one that would be the embodiment of their extreme Venom F5 hyper-car was an incredible and thrilling process. And surely a career milestone for Skeleton Concept.
The Venom F5 is the fastest car on earth. It has an unparalleled beast of an engine and a futuristic, neat design. Therefore, the first question we had to answer was: which characteristics reflected on the Venom F5 car we wanted to personify into our Rolex® Cosmograph Daytona 116520 ? Then we needed to decide whether we would use the same materials that Hennessey chose to build their car and modify the cut of the movement. A process that started early December 2021 comes to an end almost a year later.

A VISCERAL CUSTOMIZATION FOR THE ULTIMATE CAR
Each piece of this timepiece – even the most technical one – has been evaluated and modified to reflect the exclusivity of the Venom F5 and the exigeance and technical aspects of Hennessey Performance as a brand. The choice of the colors, the bespoke materials – it was all meticulously chosen to create a matching Horology engineering prowess to fit John Hennessey’s “madness of engineering”. With this in mind, our watchmakers have decided to create an impossible concept: a timepiece almost entirely made of Sapphire.
The level of exigence required to create not only a dial but this time an entire case in full Sapphire, is insane. This, in itself required more than 500 hours of work to create the perfect replica of the original oyster case and fit the exact measures of the Daytona. Working with such a noble material required adjustments along the way: the cut and design of the skeletonized anthracite movement have been revised several times. The movement is magnified with 24k Gold on the subdials and the oscillating mass, with also a novelty: custom-made hands made of black gold.

A 360° VIEW OF THE 3D EXTREME MOVEMENT
The engine of the Venom F5 is intense and dominating. Its power is brutal and unparalleled, we wanted to express these attributes of the hyper-car into our design. Therefore, the sapphire case is sublimated with a forged carbon bezel, specifically chosen for its resistance and strong aspect. It fits the car’s characteristics perfectly. The use of Sapphire for almost the entire timepiece allows a 360° view of the timepiece, in such a way that no matter the angle, you can see the greatness and the depth of the movement’s beating heart. The technical prowess that this concept represents is a world first.
The dial is luminescent and offers an entire new dimension to the timepiece in the dark. The markers on the white tachymeter scale are in the form of stars, a subtle nod to the U.S flag, as Hennessey Performance engineering is located in Texas.

A TECHNICAL PROWESS FOR HENNESSEY’S ENGINEERING GREATNESS
While the car has – by all means – character, it is also known for its extremely refined and stripped back design. The interiors are skeletal and comfortable, the driver sitting low in the chassis. The steering wheel is custom-made to allow extreme driving. Respecting the codes of Hennessey Performance engineering, we chose to use the same writing font for the signature concept, adding, on the case back, the number of the chassis of the limited edition car as well as the mantra of Hennessey: “The American dream never sleeps”. The constructor’s team also requested a white rubber strap, for a bracelet, to fit the futuristic aspects of the car. Due to the use of Sapphire, our master watchmakers have opted for polished finishes. It reflects the light and transcends the timepiece.
This concept is the culmination of the best of our skills brought together into a single concept. A unique timepiece that fits the singularity of the Hennessey Venom F5.
