The Gloria concept – An ode to an art connoisseur
At Skeleton Concept, we are very attentive to the story behind each personalization concept. Meeting with our client at the prestigious “Gloria Gallery” in Paris, was no different.
We met a man passionate about contemporary art, who has an eagle eye for magnificent paintings. An art connoisseur who travels the world to discover new unique pieces and add them to his renowned collection. Like every project, this one was a journey – transporting us to a world of elegance, creativity, colors and modern art.
We instantly resonated with the idea of transposing the attributes of his profession into a tangible object – creating a unique customized timepiece.
THE GLORIA CONCEPT –
A Carbon bezel with a full Rhodium-plated 18K Gold
Our master watchmakers elaborated a prototype to customize a Cosmograph Daytona with an architectural skeletonized movement entirely made of Gold. The tachymeter bezel was specifically conceived for this project. Made of forged carbon, specific treatments were applied to give it a texture. The bezel, highlighted by the golden dial ring. The subdials are painted in a rich racine-green color – maximizing the contrast of the mouvement.
The hands of the watch are the original ones of the Daytona, with high chronomalight readability. The skeletonization of the movement keeps its original properties while exponentially growing in elegance.
Our client wanted his timepiece to be sharply skeletonized with a game of texture. Therefore, we opted for both polish and satin finishes and angled each element by hand to bring contrast and shine. The Gloria concept is a powerful and extremely refined timepiece.
